Spontaneous Olympic Peninsula Adventure | Ferry Ride, Free Camping & Cape Flattery Views

Join us on a spontaneous weekend adventure to Washington’s stunning Olympic Peninsula!

With no real plan, we caught the Coupeville to Port Townsend ferry with just minutes to spare and set off into the unknown. We found a hidden gem at Lyre River Campground—a beautiful riverside spot that was free with our Washington Discover Pass. Dinner was epic vanlife comfort food: a blackened salmon bowl for Gen and a fried Spam rice bowl for Pat.

😋 The next day, we followed our wanderlust west to Cape Flattery, the northwesternmost point in the contiguous United States. The trail through lush rainforest opened up to jaw-dropping cliffs, crashing Pacific waves, and even a whale sighting!
